Betty Miller, 90, of Taylorville, IL, passed away at 4:35 a.m. on Monday, September 9, 2019 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.

Betty was born August 30, 1929 in Stonington, IL, the daughter of Oma G. & Hazel Marie (Perrine) Spillman. She married Leslie Miller on July 5, 1949 in Fairfield, IL, and he preceded her in death on July 3, 1999.

Betty attended Mt. Auburn High School, and after she and Leslie married, she stayed home to run the household and raise her children.  There was nothing in life more important to her than her children and grandchildren. Betty enjoyed car rides through the country, crafts, and a good game of BINGO.  She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Taylorville, and a past member of the Eagles Club #1425, and the Red Hat Society.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; sons, Leslie E. and Oma “Andy” Miller; great grandchildren, Tori Lanter, Brandon Hudson, and Zachery Jacob Reeter; sister, Dorothy Zini and Ona Ruth Hoffman; and brothers, Jay and Russell Spillman.

Betty is survived by her children, Linda Scott of Gilbertsville, KY, Gary L. (wife, Rena) Miller of Taylorville, IL, Mary Ann (husband, Tim) Reiser of Springfield, IL, Penny Presnell of Great Falls, MT, and Dwight (wife, Michelle) Miller of Belton, MO; daughter-in-law, Deborah Jean Miller of Taylorville, IL; 14 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; sister, Shirley (husband, Don) Wilhour of Pana, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Shafer-Perfetti & Assalley Funeral Home, 202 W. Franklin St., Taylorville, IL 62568.

Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Shafer-Perfetti & Assalley Funeral Home in Taylorville, with Pastor Bob Turner officiating.

Interment will follow at Grove City Methodist Cemetery in rural Edinburg, IL.
