Janet Christer

Janet (Wilson) Christer, 67, of Morrisonville, IL, passed away unexpectedly at 7:47 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2019 at her residence.

Janet was born February 25, 1952 in Hillsboro, IL, the daughter of Robert L. “Rabbit” and Mary Aileen (Denning) Wilson.  She married Michael J. Hough on November 7, 2008 in Missouri, and he preceded her in death on February 11, 2017.

Janet graduated from Morrisonville High School in 1970, where she was very active in 4-H.  She went on to work for the State of Illinois in the office of the EPA for over 30 years.  Following her retirement, Janet worked as a part-time courier for the post office.  She was an entrepreneur at heart, owning many businesses in the Taylorville and Morrisonville area, including Taylorville Liquor, City Limits, The Curve, Dooley’s Corner Tavern, B & B Cab Company, and was a past owner of Morrisonville Lumber.  Janet had a passion for floral design and knitting, making many arrangements for friends and family.  She was also an avid bowler and pool player.  Janet was a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Janet is survived by her children, Aaron Davis of Morrisonville, IL, Jennifer Davis of Taylorville, IL, and Jessica Dooley of Taylorville, IL; grandchildren, Bradley Davis of Chicago, IL, Jacob and Chaz Davis of Taylorville, IL, Calynn Workman of Taylorville, IL, Luke Davis of Litchfield, IL, and Wilson Johnson of Taylorville, IL; sister, Mary Bockewitz of Wildwood, MO; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation & Funeral Ceremony: The family will receive guests from 11:00 a.m. until the time of ceremony at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home, 304 Carlin St., Morrisonville, IL 62546, with The Very Rev. Albert Allen officiating.

Interment will follow at St. Raymond Cemetery in Raymond, IL.
