Dorothy Held

MORRISONVILLE - Dorothy Rose Held, 83, of Morrisonville passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010, at 11:12 p.m. at Taylorville Care Center.

She was born Nov. 10, 1926, in Morrisonville, the daughter of Harold and Florence (Millburg) Grundy. She married Lawrence "Tuffy" Held on Jan. 28, 1947, at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Darrell Grundy.

Dorothy was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society, National Catholic Society of Foresters St. Maurice Court 743 and Christian County Democratic Women.

Surviving are sons, Bernie (Jane) Held of Plainfield, IL, Dean (Viv) Held of Chatham, IL, Paul (Dee) Held, Danny (Carrie) Held and Jerry (Marcy) Held, all of Taylorville, IL, Ed (Cinda) Held of Strasburg, IL, Kenny (Diane) Held of Rockford, IL, and Howard (Linda) Held of Highland, IL; 20 grandchildren, Derek Janssen, Brad Janssen, Stephanie (Kevin) Como, Jason (Holly) Held, Missy (Dan) Johnson, Becky (Jim) Ramey, Craig Moffett, Caralea Moffett, Brandon Held, Kiersten Held, Emily Held, Ellie Held, Maggie Held, Brendan Held, Ryan Held, Brad Held, Hillary Held, Joe (Brooke) Held, Katherine Held and Matthew Held; nine great-grandchildren, Jimmy and Jessie Ramey, Tommy Johnson, Vincent, Sammy, Matthew and Miranda Como, Olivia and Jackie Held; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 9 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville. The rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 10 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville, with the Rev. Gerald Bunse officiating. Burial will follow in St. Maurice Catholic Cemetery.
