Michelle Fuchs, 57, of O’Fallon, formerly of Morrisonville, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Memorial Hospital East in Shiloh.

Michelle was born September 29, 1963 in Evergreen Park, the daughter of Richard J. and Lorraine (Stripeik) Luczak.  She married Richard Fuchs on June 21, 1989 in Morrisonville.

Michelle graduated from Morrisonville High School with the class of 1981, and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.  While in college, she proudly served 6 years in the Illinois Air National Guard. Michelle worked as a chemist for many companies in the St. Louis area, before gaining employment with Thermo Fisher Scientific, where she was currently employed as a Production Supervisor in biopharmaceuticals.  She was an excellent vegan chef, and had a talent for crocheting.  Michelle used her talent to make many afghans over the years for her family members.  Most of all, she enjoyed traveling and taking walks daily with Richard.  Michelle was a long-time member of St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lorraine Luczak; brother, Rick Luczak; and brother-in-law, Don Deal.

Michelle is survived by her husband, Richard Fuchs of O’Fallon; father, Richard J. Luczak of Taylorville; sister, Carmen Luczak of Raymond; brothers, Louie (wife, Shirl) of Florence, OR, Tom (wife, Laurie) of Aiea, HI, and Pete Luczak of Springfield; brother-in-law, Robert (wife, Beth) Fuchs of Morrisonville; sister-in-law, Judy Deal of Taylorville; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation & Funeral Mass: The family will receive guests from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 29, 2021 at St. Maurice Catholic Church, 706 SE 4th Street, Morrisonville, IL 62546, with Rev. Christudasan Kurisadima, S.A.C. as celebrant.  The memorial mass will be celebrated for Michelle’s mother, Lorraine, as well.

Inurnment will follow the mass at St. Maurice Catholic Cemetery in Morrisonville.

The family has entrusted Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home in Morrisonville with ceremonies.

I miss our calls, our laughs, our talks, You have taught me so much these last three years in all area of things and I just can’t pic up the phone, type an email…I love you so much I just miss knowing if I needed you would be, I thank the good Lord we came together again and were able to work things out.
