Phyllis Ann Klinger, 72, of Morrisonville, died at 12:15 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2009, at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 9, at Perfetti Funeral Home, Morrisonville, the Rev. Jim Ferrill officiating. Burial will follow at Morrisonville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Klinger, a former 4-H leader and member of the First Presbyterian Church of Morrisonville, was born March 24, 1937, at Taylorville, daughter of the late Gordan and Mary (Cowan) Hafliger. She graduated from Taylorville High School in 1955 from Eastern Illinois University in 1959. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education with a major in home economics.
During her teaching career, she taught school in Kincaid, at Morrisonville High School and at St. Maurice Catholic School in Morrisonville. She was an antique collector and co-owned Klinger Shed in Morrisonville with her husband for 17 years.
She married William "Bill" Klinger on Jan. 23, 1960, at Taylorville, and he survives.
Mrs. Klinger leaves one son, Kent (wife Shelly) Klinger of Clinton; three daughters, Kara Klinger of Litchfield, Kristi (husband Steve) Vose of Illiopolis and Kayla (husband Jim) Baird of Morrisonville.
Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, Holly (husband Brian) Edwards, Heath Howard, Brandon (wife Jessica) Leonard, Alana Ellegood, Jordan Vose, Brayton Vose, J.R. Baird, Levi Baird, Scott Baird, Kurtis Baird, Tatum Baird and Aaron (wife Ashley) Klinger; and one brother, Cory (wife Nancy) Hafliger of Taylorville.
One sister and one brother preceded her in death.
