MORRISONVILLE – Robert Eugene King, 83, of Morrisonville passed away Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at 11:25 a.m. at his home.

Visitation will be held Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, from 4 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 6:30 p.m. at Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville, with Pastor Chad Foster officiating. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Sidener Cemetery in rural St. Elmo.

Robert Eugene King, 83, of Morrisonville, died at 11:25 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at his residence.

Services were held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville, with Pastor Chad Foster officiating. Graveside services were to be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Sidener Cemetery in rural St. Elmo. Visitation was held from 4-6:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials: Morrisonville Senior Citizens Center.

Mr. King was born on Sept. 23, 1926, in Morrisonville, the son of James Winfred and Margaret Lola Hunt King. He married Dorothy Virginia Stolte in 1951 in Vandalia. He retired from Louis Marsch Inc. of Morrisonville after many years of service, and was also retired from Nokomis Quarry. He was a volunteer fireman for the Morrisonville Fire Department, retiring in 1988 after 35 years of service, and was a longtime volunteer at the Morrisonville Senior Citizens Center.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Gary R. King and his wife Connie of Taylorville, Jerry M. King of Vandalia, and Kevin L. King of Morrisonville; daughter, Eugenia L. “Jeanne” and her husband Donald Vancil of Taylorville; grandchildren, Brad Vancil, Kristine Horn, Gary King Jr., Ryan King, Robert King, Nicholas King, Japeth King and Caitlin Finley; great-grandchildren, Madelyn Horn, Elijah Horn, Abigail Vancil and Nathan Vancil; brother, James King and his wife Rosalie of Nine Mile Falls, Wash.; sisters, Hazel Hasting of Mulberry Grove, Betty and her husband Robert Dautel of Morrisonville, and Judy Knight of Palmer; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Donald Leroy King; brothers, Donald Dale King and William Arthur King; and a sister, Linda Lucille Sims.
