Thomas Watson, 89, died 12/12/07 in the VA Home in Quincy II. (formerly of Taylorville, Illinois) where he had been a resident since 2003.
Predeceased by his parents, brother and long time loving friend, Ethel Hill. He received an honorable discharge from the Marine Corps in 1945 after defending our country during World War II. He participated in action against the enemy at Tarara, Gilbert Islands November 21-24, 1943; at Tinian, Marainas Islands August 2 - 10, 1944.
Tom had many good friends and loved jazz, golf, dancing and having a good time. Tom worked many years at Sangamon Electric in Springfield, II.
He is survived by his loving step daughters, Beverly (Richard) Eick and Patricia Jenkins. Other loving friends are Kay Hill (Larry deceased), their children and grandchildren.
No visitation or public memorial service will be held by his request. He will be cremated and his remains buried in Camp Butler cemetery.
