Thomas A. Hurelbrink

CHENOA – Thomas A. Hurelbrink, 34 of Chenoa, formerly of Mt. Auburn lost his courageous battle with brain cancer on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. in his residence.

He was born on August 4, 1976 in Springfield, Illinois to Paul and Susan Nesvacil Hurelbrink. He married Brandie Nyberg on September 4, 1999 in Springfield, IL. Tom Graduated from Taylorville High School Class of 1994. He attended Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville where he was a member of TKE fraternity. He was a correctional officer at the Pontiac Correctional Center for 13 years. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking, golfing, fishing and watching Dallas Cowboy Football. He was also a member of AFSCME Union, Fraternal Order of Police and the NRA.

Surviving him are his wife, Brandie of Chenoa, Parents, Paul and Susan Hurelbrink of Mt. Auburn, IL; Grandmother, Emily Nesvacil of Mt. Auburn, IL.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 3, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Mt. Auburn Church of Christ, 128 W. Church St., Mt. Auburn, IL.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, September 3, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the Mt. Auburn Christian Church, Mt. Auburn with Pastor Dan Armstrong officiating.

Memorials my be made to The American Brain Tumor Association, 2720 River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60018.
