Wayne Langen

MORRISONVILLE - Wayne J. Langen, 85, of Morrisonville passed away at 4:55 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Meadow Manor in Taylorville.

He was born Dec. 2, 1923, in Morrisonville, the son of the late Theodore and Alice (Seelbach) Langen. He married Joyce Bradford on Aug. 23, 1969, at St. Maurice Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Bernard and Walter Langen.

Wayne was a lifelong farmer in the Morrisonville area. He was a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Christian County Farm Bureau. Wayne was a graduate from St. Maurice Grade School and Morrisonville High School.

Surviving are his wife, Joyce Langen of Morrisonville; nephews, James Langen of Parker, Colo., David (Paula) Langen of Canton and Gary (Lynda) Langen of East Peoria; seven great-nieces and nephews; and many cousins.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 10, 2009, at Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2009, at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville with Father Gerald Bunse and Father Alan Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at St. Maurice Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Meadow Manor or a charity of the donor's choice.
